Local religious beliefs termed as animism and dynamism by Giddens are still found in the religious practices of Indonesian communities. One of such practices occured in Bugis Ujung-Bone society, South Sulawesi. Peoples faith in supernatural beings which are mythically believed as giving something meaningful for them is reflected by performing certain rituals in their daily lives. This ritual is performed at home and in a special place called Addewatang. This local belief system was firstly conceived and conceptualized by Sanro Maggangka. It grew into a local ritual tradition in Ujung-Bone society. This local ritual tradition were then acculturated with some formal religions activities. In the meantime, the figure of sanro becomes very important as a mediator in every religious ritual practiced by the society. Finally, hegemonic domination by the sanro can be observed in every thoughts and actions of the society, especially in their religious practices. In this research, the phenomenon were analyzed with the phenomenological-constructionist analysis. There are two findings of this research. First, there is a public perception that the practice of religious ritual done so far is believed as a part of their formal religions belief system. Second, there is a strong hegemony and dominance of the sanros role in conceptualizing this local ritual practice into their formal religions activities. The impact of this mythical belief of the role of sanro and Putta Sereng can be seen in the faithfulness of the people to act based on sanros instructions, the decrease of the peoples faith in their own formal religion, and the occurrence of theological confusions in the younger generations of Ujung-Bone society

This policy research aims to describe about the actualization and habitualization of ideology on interreligious harmony. This ideology is constructed whether through top-down state policies or local value basis which is proactively advocated by elites of religions. This research uses a survey method to gain actual and evaluative responses from the respondents which is limited for Moslem and Christian groups in East Kalimantan. The research findings depicts that perceptions of the public related to inter-religious harmony tend to be very positive, the response rate represented the average index of 0.79. Although it could not be denied that there are other facts found in this study by interviewing people at the grass roots. These people gave different response; their responses tend to be negative which may lead to a conflict of identity between local people and migrants

This paper aims to compare the three sistems of law on the status of adopted children by using normative juridical approach. It concluded that the position of adopted children in the sistem of Islamic law does not sever the relationship between the adopted child and his biological parents then adopted children do not become the heir of his adoptive father except through wajibah testament. The amount of inheritance is not more than 1/3. Positive law stipulates that adopted children have equal position with biological children of foster parents so that the adopted child becomes heir adoptive parents for adoption severed all civil relationship between the child and biological parents. While in traditional law, the position of adoptive children depends on the laws in force in a customs area because some areas in Indonesia is different in determining position an adopted child

Infantile hemangioma presenting as colocolic intussusception in an infant case report with review of pathologic lead points

Infantile hemangioma (IH) is one of the most common vascular anomalies of early childhood and is usually recognized in the first few weeks to months of life as a solitary cutaneous lesion. This report documents our experience with a GLUT-1 positive IH presenting as the pathologic lead point in a colocolic intussusception in a 10-week-old infant who had no skin lesions. Literature suggests approximately 2% of all children presenting with an intussusception require surgical intervention; however, an IH as the pathologic lead point is unique

For low-income, minority pregnant and postpartum women, meeting adequate nutritional standards is difficult due to a variety of constraints. Predispositions to a lower quality dietary intake negatively affect the overall health and wellbeing of both the mother and the baby. By utilizing the Fundamental Cause Theory as the theoretical lens of analysis, its relevance and importance are discussed and analyzed towards a content analysis of Sociological and Public Health research. The results indicate that Fundamental Cause Theory does help understand the problem of nutritional disparities in low-income, minority, pregnant and postpartum women. The study also suggests ways to refine the Fundamental Cause Theory for applicability towards both Sociological and Public Health research

Fully integrated low-loss band-pass filters for wireless applications

Fully integrated low insertion loss micromachined band-pass filters are designed and fabricated on the silicon substrate for UHF applications. Filters are made of silver, which has the highest conductivity of all metals, to minimize the ohmic loss. A detailed analysis for realizing low insertion loss and high out-of-band rejection filters using elliptic magnitude characteristics is presented, and a comprehensive model to take into account inductive parasitics of the interconnects is developed. Temperature characteristics of the filters are measured and show stable performance. The presented filters are different from the previously reported lumped element filters in that all filters are fully integrated on silicon substrate and occupy a remarkably smaller die area. Two filters are fabricated using the silver micromachining technique with center frequencies at 1.05 and 1.35 GHz. The filters have a constant 3 dB bandwidth of 300 MHz (28.6% and 22.2%) and an insertion loss of 1.4 1.7 dB. The low insertion loss and CMOS compatibility make the presented filters suitable candidates for radio frequency integrated circuits.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/65077/2/jmm9_8_085009.pd

Amélioration de la qualité microbiologique des effluents secondaires par stockage en bassins

Microbiological quality improvement of secondary effluent by reservoir storage. Storing secondary effluents is of particular interest for water resource management. It constitutes further treatment which reduces the microbial contamination of water to a level where it can be used for the irrigation of all crops, without restriction. The storage of treated wastewater takes place during the winter, ensuring that such a resource is not lost and enabling a larger area to be irrigated during the dry season, thereby increasing agricultural production. Storage trials in reservoirs were conducted in north-eastern Tunisia. Their objective was to determine the length and conditions of secondary effluent decontamination as well as the impact of seasonal storage on water quality. The results indicate that the decontamination of effluents slows down with increased reservoir depth. For a depth of less than 150 cm, a reduction of fecal coliforms in the order of 3 log units is attained in 3 days when the average temperature of the water ranges from 22 to 25 degrees C; when this temperature is between 25.5 and 28 degrees C, the same reduction takes 8 days. Below 20 degrees C, decontamination is considerably reduced: for a mean water temperature ranging from 12.5 to 18 degrees C, the reduction of fecal coliforms reaches 3 log units only after a retention time of 17 days in the reservoir. Seasonal storage from 2 to 7 months does not affect the bacteriological quality of water: after decontamination, no proliferation of bacterial indicators occurs during storage
